Ta Dah

As my kids get older, I observe what I call the disappearing act. Everyone seems to disappear into their bedrooms, with homework and YouTube and Instagram and Snapchat on their brains. We are all so busy and I understand needing some personal space to decompress – I need it too. But I miss the days when they couldn’t go 10 seconds without calling my name and hanging on my leg and needing something from me. They laugh, they cry, they experience great successes and humiliating disappointments and it’s often hard to watch. And this all seems to happen when everyone has less time for each other. So I am reminded today to stay connected. Be together. Make time for each other. Don’t stray too far from the group. Buddy up. Because the ride gets bumpier. And the time gets shorter.
