The One Week Restaurant Redo

How do you re-design a restaurant in one week with a limited budget?  Very strategically.  We knew with our short time frame and even shorter budget that we could only source from big box stores with readily available stock. We started by cladding the walls with plywood, which we found at Home Depot for under $20/sheet. We painted another wall in black chalkboard paint, a go-to choice for both residential and restaurant spaces. From there, we bought wall lights from CB2, pendants from Home Depot, and furniture from both Ikea and local vintage stores. Finally, the crowning layers – the funky chicken mural painted by artist Sick Fisher and the wheat paste wall. Wheat paste is a fun, affordable way to pack a big punch. The bright, colorful images of funky chickens pasted to the wall lends the space an urban, textural and fun vibe. Lots of look for little money and even less time.
